Launching the application|||
There are many things in common between launching Mac and Windows based apps. There are also many similarities between Client/Server and single user versions of the software. This note describes the basic requirements of each type of launch.
The data file and the Client/Server application structure (CommerceExpert/WebClerk98m or tCust98w) can be transported back and forth between operating systems. Use 4D Transporter to transform the file to the other operating system (see Technical Documents in Chap 25).
Documents such as SuperReports, QuickReports, Letters, 4D Write and 4D Calc documents can be opened in either environment without transporting.
The Clients and single user portions of the application are compiled to be platform specific. All are included on the installation disks. Regardless of the Server Platform, Mac or Windows Clients can see and work with the server.
